Remote Fall Internships with UMass Communication alumna, Karyn Martin ’01, at Golden Thread Agency!

Are you thrilled by the idea of helping awesome brands create and then spread their message (while selling more product)? Do you want to learn shortcuts to devising winning client branding strategies and successful PR campaigns? Do you feel you have something to share in terms of how brands can best leverage social and other platforms to better reach today’s consumer? If you answered yes to these 3 questions then keep reading! (If not, that’s cool. We’re not for everyone.)

Join Karyn Martin, a UMass Communication ’01 alumna, for this seasonal internship and get real, hands-on PR/marketing experience at a boutique female-owned and lead PR collaborative. You will be treated as a valued team member and will have access to work directly on client campaigns. The position is 100% remote. Occasional lunches (either in person or virtual) could be a thing… if you want them to be!

Hats you’ll wear: publicist, designer, detective, creator, analyst and more! While our specialty is PR, we are really in the business of solving our clients marketing challenges and helping them achieve their business goals. This means we have to color outside the lines sometimes! You’ll be encouraged to do so.

As a PR intern you’ll work closely with UMass alumna, Karyn Martin, (a self-described pirate with a heart of gold) to take both our agency and our clients’ businesses to the next level. You’ll receive ongoing support and direction, but I won’t give you all the answers. You’ll be encouraged to be an independent thinker and bring your own solutions to the table. You’ll have the opportunity to be in the field. Our work is directly affected by the current news, economy and consumer attitude which means we plan, but have to be flexible. It also means everyday is different! This is true from the work we do for large national consumer brands to smaller B2B organizations. One thing I can guarantee, all of our work requires creativity and all of our clients do something that matters.

Commitment: 16 – 20 hours per week. Days of the week are flexible. Class credit optional.

How to apply: Please send a resume and a cover letter to karyn@goldenthreadagency.com by Friday, August 13th.

Karyn is also hiring for an Assistant Publisher/Intern and a Social Media/Design Intern for this fall. Check out all three postings on Handshake today!
