You’ve just about made it to spring break!
We know you are looking forward to getting away, sleeping in, and having some well-deserved R&R time.
During your time off, if you find yourself mindlessly doom scrolling and feeling bad about it, take a break from social media, and do a little thinking about / moving forward with your job or internship search. What might that look like? Here are some ideas. Just pick one or two!
- Check out our resume guide and samples and see if yours is in line with these.
- Learn about different industries by exploring our Career Communities.
- Create an account on ConnectUMass and start exploring the alumni who have posted their profiles and may be good resources for you as you explore your options.
- Take a look at our Informational Interviewing and Networking guides, and find an alum you would like to ask for an informational interview.
- Request an informational interview with someone you know, or with someone you are interested in learning from. (see bullet point above)
- Find two jobs/internships in Handshake that you want to apply for, and start preparing your resume and cover letter.
- Make an appointment with one of your SBS career advisors for when you get back to campus.
- Attend the March 16th, in-person Boston Area Employers Internship Fair at Mount Ida .
- Attend the March 16th in-person Night of Connections event with alumni who want to be a resources for you, at Mount Ida. (see bullet 4 to prepare)
But before you do any of those things, congratulate yourself for getting this far, appreciate your successes, learn from your failures, and go get some rest. 😴
And have a great break!
