Rising Seniors: Heads up!

Congratulations on finishing your junior year! Time to take a bit of a breather, and to get ready for whatever you are doing this summer!

AND – knowledge is power, so heads up: Whatever industry you are interested in pursuing after graduation, it is important to understand their hiring cycle/timeline so you can both be ready when it’s time, and also not be stressed when you see people in other industries getting jobs.

Students interested in business need to know that the corporate sector does a lot of it’s recruiting and hiring in the fall, so you need to have your resume updated and ready to go as soon as school starts. Career Fairs and on-campus recruiting begin in September!

Student interested in paralegal positions, on the other hand, don’t need to start looking until December, going through March/April.

Media and communications agencies are typically not hiring until the end of the academic year, although if it is a large corporation, such as tech firm HubSpot, they do their hiring in the fall.

Corporate recruiting timelines

Knowing when your hiring timeline is will empower you to be ready at the right time, to not stress when other people are interviewing and you aren’t, and to enjoy your senior year all the more! Your SBS career team is working all summer, so schedule a meeting with us via Handshake, or send us your most updated resume in August for a checkup.
