Corporate sector hiring for next summer has begun

If you are planning to apply for full-time jobs or summer 2025 internships in the corporate sector, it is time to gear up for that search.

These employers will begin their recruiting in Sept, with offers going out in October. Make sure your resume is updated with whatever you did this summer, and that you have it reviewed by a member of the SBS career team.

Some of these positions have already been posted in Handshake. You can find information about Sept. and Oct. on-campus career fairs in Handshake under the Events tab, as well as on the SBS Pathways website. Check the fair in Handshake to find the list of registered employers.

Tips for your planning:
– Do not use a template for your resume. Follow the formatting in our resume samples. This is what employers are looking for.
– Apply early! Don’t wait until the deadline. As soon as you see a position of interest, start getting your materials ready to apply.
– There is prep work to do before attending a career fair. Check out our info on Preparing for a Career Fair.
– Get yourself a career fair/interviewing outfit. You can find affordable options at JC Penney, Target, and other locations. A suit is not necessary, but business casual is expected. Do it now while you have time.

Come meet with an SBS career advisor! We can help you get a strategy in place, and make sure your documents are ready, your interview skills are honed, and we’ll help you gain confidence in the process! We’re available via zoom in the summer, and both virtually and in person once the semester begins. We look forward to seeing you!
