This is a hybrid position (3 days in office, and 2 days remote) based at the Staples Corporate Headquarters in Framingham, MA.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Human Resources Intern at Staples, you will be responsible for supporting the Talent Acquisition and Talent Management team with various initiatives, conducting research and establishing benchmarking data to help inform specific talent programs and initiatives, leading the coordination for intern events (Coffee Chats, Career Development Sessions, National Intern Day, and Closing Ceremony), identifying Fall recruiting opportunities, registering for upcoming events, identifying ways to elevate our company brand on-campus, and working on building an event schedule with on-campus affinity groups. The research will entail collecting and benchmarking data from similar companies in size and program structure and offerings (relocation, housing, and transportation assistance, rotational program structure, program compensation, conversion rates, etc.).
In this role, you will learn what it means to nurture relationships, and actively communicate with the hiring manager and students. You can passionately articulate the Staples Employee Value Proposition (EVP), the business landscape, and what makes Staples an amazing place to work. This is a collaborative role, working across the Talent Acquisition and Talent Management team, Staples hiring managers, and HR Business Partners to build a team of talented individuals that will support a best-in-class organization.
How you’ll make an impact (Knowledge and Skills):
- Conduct Research: Identify similar companies with early career program offerings to establish benchmarking data to gain insight into relocation assistance, rotational program structure, program compensation, conversion rates, etc.
- Source Talent: Know where to find the talent for each role (Exempt and non-exempt) and how to effectively establish an inclusive recruiting strategy.
- Recruitment Marketing: Utilizes social media to promote programs. Clearly articulate Staples employer value proposition and the opportunity this creates for potential candidates to advance their career at Staples.
- Manage Intern Experience: Proactively communicate with students and manage content for the Internship Teams channel. Lead the coordination of the weekly development sessions and partner with a cross-functional team to support the execution of National Internship Day and Closing Ceremony.
- Support Talent Management Initiatives: Partner with Talent Management to provide support coordinating and executing key talent programs and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s in business, human resources, or related field. Enrolled as a full-time student and rising senior.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of current employment laws including OFCCP’s guidelines for fair hiring practices
- Enjoy working in teams and being highly communicative
- Able to multi-task and be flexible to new initiatives
