This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and drive digital strategies for Amherst Media. Social Media Interns are at the forefront of disseminating the organization’s mission of community building, information sharing and social justice. Candidates should be internet savvy and passionate about connecting with the wider world. Interns work with staff to develop marketing strategies to increase community engagement on the web. Duties include driving traffic to Amherst Media’s website, increasing membership and creating a sense of community on the web. Interns will have a sharp eye for the latest web trends and technologies to seize new opportunities on the social media landscape. Watch our video
Duties: Interns manage and update pre-existing web and social media pages including amherstmedia.org, Twitter, Facebook, and other sites. Interns promote involvement with the Amherst Media online community by developing connections and building relationships, as well as documenting day to day work at Amherst Media using video and photography. Interns create Public Relations campaigns targeting existing and prospective Amherst Media members involving distribution of information via the web, email and social media sites.
Desired Skills: Proficiency with Mac OS X, Photoshop, MailChimp, Twitter, Facebook, Adobe Creative Suite, Video Cameras, DSLR Cameras, and other social media.
