Corporate Audit Overview:

Corporate Audit is a global team responsible for providing independent assessments of business activities throughout Bank of America.

The mission of Corporate Audit is to effectively and efficiently support the company’s risk governance framework by determining whether controlling processes and controls over strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance and reputational risks are adequately designed and functioning effectively.

In that regard, Corporate Audit activities are designed to provide reasonable assurance that:

  • Resources and assets are adequately protected
  • Significant financial, managerial and operating information is complete, accurate and reliable
  • Employees’ actions are in compliance with Bank of America policies, standards, procedures and applicable laws and regulations

Intern Program Overview

The Corporate Audit Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship that introduces you to Bank of America and Corporate Audit. Our goal for summer interns is to have the opportunity to build upon their academic foundation – specifically technical skills, industry knowledge and familiarity with a corporate environment – while pursuing their career in Corporate Audit.

Your training and development is our top priority with formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout. These opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Bank-provided trainings focused on Mechanics of the Bank, Data Literacy, Executive Ready Presentations and more
  • Intern Mentorship Program
  • Enterprise Executive Speaker Series
  • Employee Networks – LEAD for Women, Black Professional Group, LGBT+ Pride, and more
  • Continuous Educational Speakers and Events
  • Networking Events
  • Community Service Opportunities

A Day in the Life

Corporate Audit internships provide exposure to internal auditing, access to senior leaders and comprehensive training to support your development. As a summer intern, you will obtain an understanding of the auditing profession, establish meaningful relationships, and participate in philanthropic volunteer activities.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing core audit skills focused on audit practices, methodology and business expertise
  • Execute audit testing and documentation
  • Team collaboration on assignments and specialized projects
  • Participate in Corporate Audit and site events
  • Promoting a culture across the company where risk management is embraced as vital to achieving responsible growth

Corporate Audit Opportunities

The Corporate Audit Summer Analyst Program assigns interns to teams across various areas of the bank including the eight lines of business and corporate functions. Internship opportunities may include positions supporting various business groups, such as the below:

o Business Banking

o Chief Financial Officer Group

o Global Commercial Banking

o Global Corporate & Investment Banking

o Global Markets

o Global Operations

o Global Risk Management

o Merrill

o Preferred Banking

o Private Bank

o Retail Banking

*Intern team assignments are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates must have a final graduation date between November 2026 and August 2027.
  • Preferred areas of study include but are not limited to:

o Internal Audit

o Finance

o Data Analytics

o Management Information Systems

o Accounting

o Computer Science

o Economics

  • 3.5 minimum GPA preferred
  • Candidates should possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for operational excellence and a commitment to achieving sustainable results.
  • Additionally, students should hold strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office as well as show proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and analytical skills, verbal and written communication and professionalism.
