The Social Media and Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening and expanding the Division of Ecological Restoration’s (DER) communications and outreach capabilities to communicate the value of DER’s ecological restoration work to partners and stakeholders and to build public support for ecological restoration. This position leads and supports key outreach projects and initiatives, including managing and expanding the Division’s social media presence and e-newsletter. The position also provides support for essential communications tasks including responding to time-sensitive communications issues and requests for information, planning and organizing public events, writing and reviewing press releases and reports, and responding to media requests. The position coordinates closely with communications staff in the Department of Fish and Game and its Divisions.
