The Scarsdale Inquirer, an award-winning community newspaper and online news site covering Scarsdale, Edgemont and Hartsdale in Westchester County, New York, seeks a full-time general assignment reporter.
The job involves writing about local trends, events and occasional breaking news, covering government or school board meetings, with weeknight and some weekend assignments. Expect to write four stories or more a week on deadline.
Candidates must have writing and reporting experience. Must have a car and be available to cover evening/night meetings as assigned. Photography and social media skills are a plus. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply, but experienced reporters are preferred. Residence in Westchester County is preferred, but not required.
