Hi! My name is Alexandra Sierra Garcia and I am from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico I grew up in between Bogotá, Colombia, Fairfax, Virginia, and Mexico City, Mexico. I am a double major in communications and political science here in UMass. I love being outside in the spring and baking delicious treats to share with others. I enjoy being at the beach back at home and delicious food like the one I can get in Mexico City. I plan after graduating to pursue a law degree as well. I am fluent in both English and Spanish due to the opportunities I was given living abroad and having a bilingual family. In Bogotá and Mexico City, I have always been involved in many fundraising causes for my past schools and the surrounding community. I want to be able to encourage the UMass community to acknowledge and appreciate each other’s differences whether they be culturally, ethnically or socio-economically.
