Stefanie went straight to grad school after UMass, and received her MA in Political Science from George Washington University in 2013. While at GW, she was a Research Fellow for the GW Institute of Public Policy, and worked as a Donor Fundraising Manager in the U.S. for a Ugandan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with a public health mission. She then became the Senior SomerStat Analyst for the City of Somerville, MA, where she monitored financial, operations and personnel data for City departments including the Dept. of Public Works, Health & Human Services, Capital Planning & Projects, Constituent Services, Elections and SomerPromise. Stefanie became a Performance Analyst for the City of Boston, and has worked her way up to the role of Chief Data Officer, where she and her team use data to tell the story of Boston’s neighborhoods and what they need.
While at UMass, Stephanie:
• Was a Research Fellow and Program Manager for the UMass Civic Initiative
• Was a Grants Assistant for the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance
• Studied abroad in Copenhagen
