Zoe Cullen’19, Journalism

During her time at UMass, Zoe completed her journalism degree while working as a communications assistant for the honors college. She says she was able to take what she learned
in the classroom and apply it directly to telling the stories of the many different voices that make up the community. While taking electives she developed an interest
in technology and media studies. During her senior year, she was able to participate in an independent study with journalism professor Joshua Braun, where she received
invaluable experience researching, writing, and concentrating on media studies.

After graduating from UMass, Zoe landed a job as a content specialist and SEO analyst with a focus on cyber security and technology. In that role, she researched, wrote, and promoted articles, eBooks, and other digital content, and ran marketing campaigns on their social media and professional platforms.  Zoe has since moved up to the position of Digital Marketing Director, where she focuses on digital strategy and implementation.

While at UMass, Zoe:
• Was a member of the Kappa Tau Alpha Journalism National Honor Society
• Was a blogger, social media director, and communications assistant for the Commonwealth Honors
College
