Intergroup Dialogue
Intergroup dialogue is “a facilitated, face-to-face encounter that strives to create new levels of understanding, relating and action between two or more social identity groups who have a history of conflict or potential conflict” (Zúñiga & Nagda, 2003).
The Intergroup Dialogue Initiative aims to create spaces for dialogues across differences on our campus around issues that are critical and relevant to our community; build campus-wide capacity among faculty, students, and staff to facilitate intergroup dialogue; and position UMass Amherst as a national and global leader in intergroup dialogue practice and research.
