Legal 460: Legalization of the American Indian

Did you know there is an entirely separate body of federal law related to Native Americans?  Would you like to learn more about laws and policies related to American Indians?

Join Professor Kathleen Brown-Perez, a member of the Brothertown Indian Nation and Federal Indian Law attorney in LEGAL 460 “Legalization of the American Indian.”  Open to sophomores and above, the course begins with an introduction to American Indians and tribes in the U.S. (definitions, status, history, and discussion of settler colonialism) before addressing civil and criminal law as they relate to Indians, Indian tribes, and Indian Country.
