Social Media / Design Internship
Do you consider yourself an early adopter when it comes to technology and social media? Do you have a secret love/hate relationship with falling down the dark rabbit hole of TikTok and IG late at night? Do you have an eye for design and an interest to showcase it via social channels? If you answered yes to these 3 questions then keep reading! (If not, that’s cool. We’re not for everyone.)
Join me for this seasonal internship and get real, hands-on social media strategy and execution experience with a small selection of brands looking to reach a key demographic online. You’ll have a chance to be the social media lead on key campaigns and have the opportunity to work closely with both PR and marketing to ensure there is a cohesive, consistent brand image to the public eye. You’ll work closely with me (a female entrepreneur who is building not one, but two businesses in PR and media.) You will be treated as a valued team member and will have access to work directly with clients. The position is 100% remote. Occasional lunches (either in person or virtual) could be a thing… if you want them to be!
Hats you’ll wear: social strategist, designer, content creator, copy writer, community liaison, and more! Anyone can have a social media account, including brands, but this doesn’t mean that they should. There is strategy required and business goals to be met when leading the social charge for a client. It’s our job to stay up on the trends, and develop social content that isn’t just engaging, but thoughtfully targeting the right audience at the right time.
In the social media role, you’ll focus on both business and content strategy. But there’s no sitting back here, this role requires a roll-up-your-sleeves as a team attitude. You’ll receive ongoing support and direction, but I won’t give you all the answers. You’ll be encouraged to be an independent thinker and bring your own solutions to the table. You’ll have the opportunity to be in the field. Our work is directly affected by the current news, economy and consumer attitude which means we plan, but have to be flexible. It also means everyday is different! One thing I can guarantee, all of our work requires creativity and the efforts we make matter to the brands we serve.
Commitment: 16 – 20 hours per week. Days of the week are flexible.
Pay: Unpaid internship. Class credit available and optional.
Tech required: computer with video & audio capabilities (for Zoom.)
