Samantha Bowman works as a Landscape Designer for Pharis Design in Austin, TX, where she designs thoughtful landscapes that serve the community both culturally and environmentally, and uses her technical skills to help detail design components and manage projects.  Sam says, “Moving to Texas to practice LA has given me the opportunity to help design landscapes within master planned communities not often seen in MA. This allows me to connect people and places within a neighborhood while also offering ethical design solutions to environmental problems a site may face. Providing each neighborhood a cohesive design throughout helps give them strong sense of identity.” While she was a student, Sam had a couple of internships, one with Jennifer Horn Landscape Architecture, and one with Save the Harbor / Save the Bay in Boston.

While at UMass, Sam:

Was Secretary / Event coordinator for BSLA, which she says helped provide a foundation for both her networking and management abilities.
