Broadcast Journalism

Students interested in pursuing broadcast journalism careers can develop their skills in our state-of-the-art broadcast studio, the ultimate lab for hands-on learning of all facets of video production. We’re creating journalists who can shoot video and stills, edit video, write, perform on camera while also mastering the many facets of behind-the-scenes studio production and can write for the web as part of posting their content online. They graduate fully equipped to follow their passion…producing high quality video and content, whether it be for broadcast news, documentaries, sports outlets or their own YouTube channel. From courses that show the basics of creating a multimedia news package to producing doumentaries and developing on-air performance, UMass Journalism prepares for success in broadcast journalism.
